No Riteish is not going to play a role of CHAAYWALA in his next film, but he’s going to be CHAAYWALA in real. According to sources, he is planning open a chain of tea centres just like we’ve CCD, Barista cafe chains.

It will be named “Chaay Piyo Ji”, and will soon be launched first in Mumbai and later spread to other parts of India. The first centre will be in South Mumbai and it will be done by early next year. He got this name from a canteen named “Chaay Piyo Ji” in his film ‘Aladin’.

This tea centre will serve different national and international varieties of tea, including tea from Assam, green teas and masala chais. Riteish, who has studied architecture, will be designing the interiors of his tea centre himself.

On asking about his personal likes, he told that while he liked green tea the most, he likes to experiment with different flavours.

The visual splendour of the sea has never been captured before in any Indian film like it is in Blue. The opening reels of the film will have a viewer’s mouth agape with awe and beauty of the water world, caught on camera brilliantly by underwater cinematographer Pete Zuccarini, who has ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ to his credit.

But a sinking feeling begins to set in as ‘Blue’ steers into the second half and one notices that between the numerous stunts, both on land and under water, there’s hardly any depth or grip in the story to keep you glued to ‘Blue’. Thankfully, there is Akshay Kumar, once again working his charm with that flashy gummy grin of his. And, of course, there is Lara Dutta in those eye-popping bikinis to kick the hormones amid all the adrenaline rush….Enough of what one can expect for the cost of ticket and time spent on this aqua-adventure thriller.

Much of ‘Blue’ is set over land, in Bahamas. Aarav (Akshay Kumar) and Sagar (Sanjay Dutt) are good friends who bond over fishing and boxing. Aarav, who is rich and looking to be richer, seems particularly interested in a sunken ship called ‘Lady in Blue’. Why? Because it carries a treasure lost in 1949 when the ship sank on its way from England to India.

Before one wonders that how on earth did a ship from England to India ended up going down in Bahamas (which is way far off), one sees that Sagar has some emotional strings attached to the sunken ship. He won’t go there for any temptation, any except brotherly love.

Which brings us to Sam (Zayed Khan), Sagar’s younger brother, who’s left the home and is flaunting his attitude and bike-speeding skills in Bangkok. He gets into a mess with a local mafia don (Rahul Dev) and flees back to his brother Sagar in Bahamas.

From then on, Sagar is pushed into a set of situations where he’s got no option but to go looking for the sunken treasure trove with Aarav and Sam.

In this adrenaline burst of macho men, speedsters, and deep sea divers who swim with sharks, some glamour and titillation is thrown in in the shapely forms of the bikini-clad Lara Dutta and deadly-looking Katrina Kaif. There’s also Kylie Minogue, the Aussie pop icon, chiggy-wiggying with Akshay in a club song.

But what’s missing is a nice and tight story that could make the movie work besides its action, stunts and glamour. Pardon the little spoiler but the whole hunt for the treasure is justified in the end by a flimsy reason about preserving the family honour.

Watch the film for Akshay, who rocks once again. Sanjay Dutt looks tired, Lara Dutta hot. Zayed Khan does better than what we’ve seen from him in the past. Rahul Dev has a lengthier role than Katrina who’s there only for a few minutes.

Debutant director Anthony D’Souza, also the co-writer of screenplay, makes a fine debut but leaves a lot to be desired. If he had a tighter story and believable reasons to justify the motives of the characters in ‘Blue’, the film could have been an absolute delight and an edge-of-the-seat experience.

Such as it is, ‘Blue’ is still worth a dive.

Aamir Khan made a promise of quitting smoking to his son. But he has brken his promise now. He’s puffing like a chimney these days! The actor who quit the nicotine stick earlier this year as a promise to his son who was giving the board exams, is lighting up as many as 30 times a day currently. The reason being his forthcoming release 3 Idiots. According to Aamir, “I tend to get nervous before the release of each film. And smoking kind of relieves the stress.’’ Close friends suggest that Aamir is superstitious about this ‘smokingbefore-each-release’ pattern.

However, his smoking has always been as much a topic of debate as everything else this elusive superstar does. People who witnessed the Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir bonding during the multiplex crisis say that SRK frequently asked Aamir, “Arre yaar, you’re not smoking these days? How do you do this — now on, now off thing? Let me in on your secret?”

But Aamir’s brown eyes would only twinkle with mischief every time because he has no secret formula for his now on, now off smoking pattern. What Aamir has, though, is the extreme will to treat the nicotine stick with disdain on one day and draw passionately on it another. Can SRK or even Salman Khan match that?

SRK’s ordeal on 15th August, at the New Jersey immigration, threw light on a problem constantly being faced by Bollywood Stars and their staff. And now like King Khan, Shahid Kapoor too apparently spent 90 mins at the New York airport, while the authorities grilled his spotboy Mohammed Manjoor Allam, better known as Mamu in Bollywood. Mamu, an elderly gentleman, has been taking care of Shahid since childhood and is working as the actor’s valet or spotboy.

Shahid is currently in the US for a 40-day schedule of Parmeet Sethi’s untitled venture being produced by Aditya Chopra. He had left for the US days prior to the release of his film Dil Bole Hadippa! along with actress Anushka Sharma, choreographer Ahmed Khan and a close-knit unit. For the first leg of the shooting, the unit was in Philadelphia and from there, they packed to move to the Big Apple last week. It was during his entry into New York that Mamu was asked to step aside and questioned separately as his name needed special clearance.

A member of the unit said,

“The questioning lasted for nearly 90 minutes. Though Mamu has travelled extensively to most countries with Shahid, USA is the only country he had not visited.”

When Mamu was stopped at the airport, Shahid sensed that he was very nervous, especially since he wasn’t very fluent in English. Shahid didn’t allow him to feel isolated in a foreign land and sat with him throughout the questioning.

Mamu was eventually let off, however, the airport did not give a reason for this 90-minute questioning. The actor was unavailable for comment, but his official PR spokesperson confirmed the news. “Yes this incident did happen.”

Before Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan came together for London Dreams, director Raj Kumar Santoshi was keen on having SRK and Aamir Khan as the lead protagonists for his flick. Instead of London Dreams he had named his flick Rashque and even got the two superstar Khans together for script narration.

A source says,

“In principle both actors loved the script, said they wanted to go home and sleep over it before they started principal photography. But for months on end, Raj Santoshi chased both actors independently and neither of them reverted.’’

If all had went well, SRk would have been playing Ajay’s role and Aamir would have been playing Sallu’s role.

Aamir recently revealed that he and SRK once did a flick together, he said,

“you guys have missed a moment in film history. Shah Rukh and I were together in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Pehla Nasha way back in 1993 where we gave one shot in the same frame at a film premiere sequence.’’

Now that’s a nice one Aamir.

Our space had informed you that the racy photoshoot of Neetu Chandra in a Mumbai suburban hotel with another female model, Krishikha Gupta, had created much uproar due to which the shoot had to be stalled. The photos are indeed very bold and shocking, but the magazine ‘Man’ has decided to go ahead with them.

Neetu brushed off the controversy saying, “Yes. I did shoot with another girl. And it was indeed a sensuous shoot. But it was definitely not promoting ‘lesbianism’ even by an iota of thought!”

On a professional front too, Neetu is on an upswing with films like RGV’s Rann, Vipul Shah’s yet untitled film, Rahul Dholakia’s Mumbai Cutting and Kusar Prasad Ka Bhoot with Paresh Rawal.

There’s some good news for Hera Pheri movie fans, as director Priyandarshan has managed to bring the trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal together. The movie will be titled “De Dhana Dhan” and produced by Ratan Jain.

The first venture Hera Pheri was superhit. Since then Priyan was planning to make another film with his favourite trio. And he has managed to bring them together now. Priyan says,

I’ve made a funny film… it is for the audience to patronise it now.

Post Hera Pheri, many things changed like Akshay became a top star in Bollywood, this prevented from bringing them together. He also had some differences with Suniel.

Now Akshay is glad to be with team again. He says,

It was not easy for all of us to come together. Something or the other kept happening which prevented us from working together. Though we wanted to, because Hera Pheri was a great experience, and we had the time of our lives shooting for that film. But things were just not falling in place. I’m glad that we were able to do De Dhana Dhan.

The highest paid actor in Bollywood – Akshay Kumar is going to promote martial arts in India. Akki made entry into bollywood as an action hero, for which he took special training in martial arts.

As per the sources, Akshay Kumar is going to sponsor a martial arts tournament “Akshay Kumar Invitational”. It will be first of its kind tournament in India.

The man behind all this is – Shihan Mehul Vora, himself teaching karate since 27 years. He had this idea in mind for quite a long time but was not getting any sponsor. But as Akki gave him confirmation for sponsorship, there will be no more hurdles to organize this martial arts tournament with 2000 fighters with international level coaches, referees and judges.

Akki said,

I owe everything to martial arts. My passion for the art goes back early teens when I went to Bangkok to master in it. My father was keen that I learn martial arts when I was nine. Even today, I practice for two hours. Martial arts are not about violence and fighting, but the power to change the life.
